Travel Arrangements

He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.  The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.
John 3:32-33 NIV

When I have the opportunity to travel I go to my travel agent to make arrangements.  I may have talked with friends or family about travelling to a certain place but they may not have ever been there to tell me what it is like.  The reason I go to the travel agent is because where I'm going they have already been and experienced it, and can tell me first hand what it's like.  They will also be able to get me the best deal available and get me onto the best flights and into the best motel rooms for the best prices.  Usually there are no hassles from the beginning to the end of my trip.  In a sense I'm honoring them by listening to what they are saying and trusting that it is true.  In fact when I return from the trip I can tell in my own words what it was like and so certify that the travel agent was right.

Jesus is like that travel agent.  He has come from heaven, knows what it is like and gives us a testimony to it's validity.  The old testament prophets are like people who talk about going somewhere but have never actually gone.  In a sense they are giving us second hand information and cannot make any of the travel arrangements.

Now it's our choice to believe the words of Jesus or not.  If you choose to believe and trust in Jesus Christ your are certifying Him as truthful.

  • I encourage you to accept Jesus' testimony of heaven.
  • In so doing you are certifying God's Word is truth.
  • Have the confidence that your eternal travel arrangements are made and the destination will be more than what you could have dreamed.
