Purpose Of Man

"As surely as I live, says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' "
Romans 14:11

We run around working at our jobs to earn money so our bills are paid and to have a sense of worth and accomplishment.  Some of us are still in school learning so one day we can enter into the work world and start our family.  Others are starting to downsize their lives after having been successful in school, work and raising families.

  • How much thought have you given to eternity?
  • What have you set aside for your life there?
  • Has any provision been made?
  • Have you cultivated an attitude of thankfulness to God?
  • Do you have an open communication with the Lord daily?

Each day I read a psalm and a proverb.  It's something that I've cultivated in my life and so many times God has spoken to me through those readings just at the right time.  By doing these daily readings I have tuned my ear to the voice of God.  It's something that I look forward to every day. I can't count the times that I've been out with a friend for breakfast, or have been talking on the phone and I've been able to have a word to encourage or challenge them.  Every time I've been thankful for His word to me earlier that day.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
